***IMPORTANT NOTICE*** Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) No Longer Accepting Hard Copy Fingerprint Card Submissions ***IMPORTANT NOTICE***

This message is being shared to inform your organization that the FBI has sent official notice to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) that as of April 15, 2012, they will no longer accept or process hard copy applicant fingerprint cards submitted for the purpose of conducting criminal history record checks. While your organization is already submitting requests electronically to FDLE, there may be segments within your agency that still periodically submit hard copy fingerprint cards. We are asking that you please take this as an opportunity to pass along this news to anyone who may be impacted by this change. And, FDLE will also be sending an informational memo directly to organizations that have recently transmitted requests via hard card submission.
It is our hope that by sharing this notice well in advance of the FBI's April 15th deadline all organizations may begin preparing for this change. We do understand that this may introduce significant modifications in the criminal history request process for some organizations and FDLE is fully committed to assisting during this transition period.
